Outboard servicing is carried out to the highest standards using the latest equipment including electronic DDT fault finding tooling so you can feel safe in the knowledge that the utmost is being done to give you hassle free boating throughout the season.
Mobile outboard servicing from Rib Shop is currently covering most of the south coat, London, and the Midlands. Its growing fleet is due to expand to cover more of the East and North of the UK mainland.

It is recommended that all outboards have a service at least once every 12 months or every 100hrs.
Rib Shops outboard servicing is used by private users, commercial operators and sailing clubs that stretch along the South Coast. We offer service agreements for multiple boat operators that reduce down time and running costs and can be worked to come within an annual budget.
Our on site service vehicles are improving year on year to enable us to offer top quality service repair and fault finding to all makes of outboard engines including Mercury and Mariner Optimax, Evinrude and Etec as well as many other four stoke and two stroke outboard engines.
Also available from our service vehicles is Rib Shops Rib repair service. Our commercial clients find this service most useful as it means the minimum down time of the craft if it is put out of action due to tube damage being occurred. Most minor tube repairs and the addition of Rib handles etc. can be carried out on site however more extensive repairs and work may need the craft bought back to our Swanwick based workshops.
With over 15 years experience working in the Rib industry our Rib repair experts are more than capable of providing superior service on or off site.
Mobile service charges do vary on your area and the service required.
Our minimum off site fee is £35.00
Annual outboard servicing should include:
Strip and check water pump.
Change gear oil and check for ingress through gear box oil seals.
Check condition of recall starter and rope lubricate as required.
Strip clean / Replace fuel filter.
Check spark plugs clean or replace.
Check flywheel nut torque and cylinder head bolts
Check operation of manual or power tilt mechanism.
Check adjustment of gear and throttle cables adjust and lubricate as required.
Remove propeller and lubricate propeller shaft.
Lubricate pivot shaft/all linkages/clamp screws etc.
Check condition of anode and trim tab, clean or replace if required.
Check oil auto lube pump.
Change oil and Oil filter on 4 stroke models.
Check and adjust timing linkages as required.
Drain and clean carburettors, check settings and adjust if required.
Check operation of start in gear protection and neutral lock.
Check Engine mounts and transom fixings
Check steering linkages and hydraulic steering system, bleed if required.
Test run on muffs and check for smooth operation of controls, correct starting from hot and cold. Check for correct idle check for smooth pick up. Kill cord operation.
Clean and treat with anti corrosion fluid
Stamp customer's warranty log book.
